Yoseikai Aikido Group
Classes Led By Mr. Palmer Cramer
Description:
There are many styles of Aikido that exist today. The Aikido/Budo we practice here at the Yoseikai Aikido Group
is associated with the Yoseikan system of the Mochizuki family. Related groups of various names have originated from here
such as yoseikan Aikido, Yoseikan Budo, Aikido Mochizuki, Aiki Mochizuki and others. The Yoseikan was founded by Minoru Mochizuki
who not only studied Aikido under Morihei Ueshiba (founder of Aikido) but also trained extensively in Judo under its founder, Jigaro Kano.
Mochizuki had studied and mastered several schools of martial arts and his broad training is reflected in his creation of the Yoseikan system.
Our practice of Aikido/Budo is a comprehensive system incorporating mainly joint locks and throws. At is core are the principles of Aikido but
also blends Judo, Jujutsu, and other arts including foot sweeps, sacrifice throws, and ground work not usually seen in other styles of Aikido.
